Fam Trip : Jordan – 12 October to 20 October 2024

12 to 20 October 2024 – NATAS outbound agents’ fam trip to Jordan, hosted by Jordan Tourism Board, facilitated by NATAS.

Day 1 : 13th October 2024

On the first day, the agents visited the Boulevard Walk and Abdali Mall. Opened in 2014, the Boulevard is a popular spot for leisure and entertainment. It features retail shops, F&B outlets, residences and offices. The day concluded with dinner, hosted by the Jordan Tourism Board at Levant Restaurant.

 

Day 2 : 14th October 2024

The agents visited Wadi Rum and started their adventure on a jeep tour, learning about the rock formations, including the iconic Seven Pillars of Wisdom. For dinner, the agents emjoyed Zarb, a traditional dish with meat, cooked underground in the sand. They had the opportunity to witness the dish being taken out from underground! After which, the agents experienced stargazing at night, under the cloudless skies.

 

Day 3 : 15th October 2024

The agents started their morning with Camel Riding around Wadi Rum. The group then made their way to Petra, visiting one of the seven wonders of the world. They learned about the historical landmarks including The Treasury, Petra Theatre and burial tombs. Thereafter, the agents experienced a Bedouin home dining, where they had Maqluba, a traditional 'upside-down' dish made with meat, rice and vegetables.

 

Day 4 : 16th October 2024

The agents made their way to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth! It is located around 400m below sea level. The agents visited the beach to experience floating on the Dead Sea, and applied the mineral-rich mud. The mud and salt from the Dead Sea are rich in minerals and known for their skin benefits and healing properties.

Day 5 : 17th October 2024

The agents visited the historic Baptism Site, Bethany Beyond the Jordan, where it is believed to be where Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist. It is located on the East bank of the Jordan River and is a UNESCO world heritage site. Thereafter, the agents attended a networking workshop organized by the Jordan Tourism Board, where travel agents from Singapore and Jordan were brought together to explore partnership opportunities and foster meaningful connections.

 

Day 6 : 18th October 2024

On the last day, the agents visited Amman Citadel, a landmark rich in history. The historical sites within the Amman Citadel included the Temple of Hercules, Byzantine Church and Umayyad Palace. The Amman Citadel also offers panoramic views of Amman, and visitors can spot the Roman Theatre from there. After the morning tour, the agents attended a cooking class at Lebanese Um Khalil Restaurant, where they learned to prepare dishes such as Musakhan and Labneh.
