31 March 2010 – SoutheastAsia.org Launches its Travel Writing Competition

The inaugural Southeast Asia Travel Photography and Writing Awards celebrate the best in travel photography and writing focused on the Southeast Asia region. Award winners in each category will receive cash prizes and be published online at www.SoutheastAsia.org .

Award Categories

Sponsored by USAID's ASEAN Competitiveness Enhancement ( ACE ) Project, awards will be presented for photography and writing categories. There are two types of award for each category: Editor's Choice Awards, chosen by a panel of judges, and People's Choice Awards, which are voted on by visitors to the SoutheastAsia.org website.

Contest Details

Entries can be submitted via the SoutheastAsia.org website , and there is no limit to the number of pictures or articles that a participant can submit. Once an entry is submitted, it will appear in the gallery page on the website, where the public will be able to view the pictures and stories and vote for their favorites to win the People's Choice Awards. A panel of judges will also review all entries and select the winners of the Editor's Choice Awards.

Important Dates

• Monthly Prizes : Award winners announced on 30th Apr, 30th May, 30th June
• 15th June, 2010 : Submission period ends
• 15th March - 15th June, 2010 : Voting and judging period
• Grand Prize: Award winners announced before 15th July
