Trav News was invited to a preview of Universal Studios Singapore on 16 March 2010 and was among the first to experience the thrills at Resorts World Sentosa.

 

The region's biggest ever and most eagerly anticipated theme park was set to open its doors to the world on 18 March 2010 .

 

Located within one of the world's most extensive and expensive tourism projects – the US$4.4 billion Resorts World Sentosa – the Universal Studios Singapore features 24 rides and attractions in seven themed zones, 18 of them original or adapted for Singapore .

 

Universal Studios Singapore brings together the best of Universal Studios theme parks in Hollywood, California, Orlando, Florida and Osaka, Japan with a pair of the world's tallest dueling coasters, a castle from the world of Shrek, a celebrity ogre, a live show by the infamous Universal Monsters, celebrity look-a-likes Marilyn Manroe, Betty Boop and more. Supporting the attractions are 30 restaurants and food carts, as well as 20 retail stores and carts.

 

The theme park boasts a collection of many world firsts: the world's biggest single collection of DreamWorks Animation attractions: the world's first Far Far Away Castle from the world of Shrek; the world's first Madagascar theme park ride and more.

 

The seven zones of Universal Studios Singapore are:

  5. The Lost World
  6. Far Far Away
  7. Madagascar

 

Tickets to the attraction are priced from $66 per adult for a one-day pass to $118 per adult for a two-day pass.
