The event was aimed at regionally propagandizing the hidden charm of Vietnam with a variety of tour products and introducing preferential policies to attract tourists to Vietnam as well as foreign investment in Vietnam 's tourism industry. The activity also goes in line with the region's tourism development strategy “ASEAN Ten Nations – One Destination” for building a connection of cultural and spiritual values as well as further deepening the understandings between the countries.
The promotional effort is geared towards the National Tourism Year 2010 under the theme “Thang Long” – Ha Noi – Thousand-year convergence”.
The presented products are mainly focused on tours to Vietnam 's world natural wonders, cultural heritages, fine-art villages, or tours linked with traditional artworks or food arts, which distinguish Vietnam from other destinations and attract travelers to the country with hidden charms. The year 2010 will see many internationally important events held in Vietnam , such as the Miss World Contest in Nha Trang, the International Film Festival and the International Puppetry and Circus Festival.
