HOLIDAYS 2011 Shatters Records!
29/08/2011

The recently concluded travel fair, NATAS HOLIDAYS 2011, has exceeded expectations and shattered sales records.

The sold-out show at 1088 booths welcomed a total of 67,051 visitors over the 3 days and achieved a record S$100 million in sales.

Mr. Robert Khoo, CEO of NATAS said, “We are quite happy with the overall performance of this fair. Our sales figures have hit an all-time high of S$100 million, an increase of 17.6% from HOLIDAYS 2010. This is despite having a slight drop in visitor numbers of 4.8% as compared to last year. This rounds up 2011 as a very good year for NATAS, with both travel fairs successfully breaking records.”

The top five destinations were China, Korea, Taiwan, Europe and Japan respectively.

Touching on the revived interest in Japan, Mr. Khoo commented that despite the earthquake and tsunami crisis in Japan in March earlier this year, Japan has made a strong recovery over the months. This contributed to visitor numbers slowly returning to normal levels, and helped Japan maintain its placing within the top five destinations.

The next NATAS travel fair, TRAVEL 2012 will be held in February next year.
