NATAS AGM and Gala Dinner 2013

It was an exciting day on 31 May 2013 as NATAS members gathered at Amara Hotel Singapore’s ballroom for the NATAS 34th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and gala dinner. Kickstarting the day was the AGM, which saw more than 100 NATAS members coming together to discuss the association’s concerns. The meeting went smoothly with all reports and items on the agenda being discussed and agreed upon by the attending members. As the AGM drew to a close, NATAS members began looking forward to the night’s activities.

Held annually, the NATAS gala dinner marks a celebration of another year of success. In honour of this special event, over 300 members and guests arrived in their best attire as they prepared for an unforgettable night.

The night’s fun and revelry began even before dinner was served, with invited vendors offering a host of entertaining activities such as rice micro-calligraphy, balloon sculpturing, caricature bookmarks, instant photography and even a blast from the past in the form of the iconic snack, kacang puteh. The dinner show soon had guests enjoying themselves immensely with rib-tickling performances by Sebastian Tang, Singapore’s Broadway Beng, and Kumar’s BOOM BOOM Cabaret Show. Guests were also regaled by the antics of one another when the energetic emcee, Rico, invited volunteers on stage for a bout of exciting games.

The 34th gala dinner also saw a very special guest – Mr Robert Khoo, who retired as NATAS’s Group CEO earlier this year. To thank him for his many contributions during his years spent serving the Association, NATAS’s President, Mr William Tan, presented Robert with a token of appreciation on behalf of NATAS.

With the fun activities, hilarious entertainment and a sumptuous feast prepared by the chefs of Amara Hotel Singapore, it was truly a night to remember.
